Introduction to 3d Graphics on Stratum 2000

The built-in three-dimensional editor

There is a set of base operations with three-dimensional objects:

  • Move, Spin, Scale
  • Control the viewpoint StaUp
  • Changing the rendering parameters
  • Copying and inserting of objects (from the file and clipboard)
  • Creating the materials and plotting the textures on the objects
  • Changing the objects attributes
  • Editing the primitives and tops

Rendering

The built-in 3Drender permits visualization of the three-dimensional scenes with a high speed. It supports different modes of visualization. The great number of modes can be applied to the scene, and to the separate object as well.

Textures

Statical textures

Raster images (bmp, jpg, gif, png, tga ...). The texture can be inserted in the file, or be saved as a separate file.

Animated textures

  • Texture on the basis of the videofile
There is a possibility of overlapping specified frame, or animated image on a three-dimensional surface
Texture on the main displays from the video camera
  • Texture from the video camera. The live picture captured by the video camera is overlapped on the three-dimensional objects.

Modeling and simulation

Three-dimension graphics is intended for modeling visualization. For three-dimension visualization Stratum gives the follows:

  • The ability to create and load ready 3D scene
  • The rich function set for manipulating with 3D objects:
    * Create and to delete, to move, to scale and to rotate 3D objects
    * Create and to put on the texture, to change the color
    * Change and to choose the coordinate system
    * Work with camera, to configure the visualization mode
  • The standard class set for working with 3D graphics;
  • The plug-in modules for additional abilities receiving, like the Boolean operations with 3D objects.

You can watch the scene and the scheme created by the model on the pictures below:

There are some examples for 3D graphics:

3D Graphics summary

  • Up to 30,000 objects
  • Hierarchical groups. Unification of objects into groups.
  • Local and world coordinates
  • Polygonal and line based primitives
  • Managing. You can change all 3D scene parameters in simulating
  • Up to 30,000 cameras
  • Unlimited quantity of simultaineously views.
  • Build-in functions set for objects manipulating
  • Plug-in drivers for the rendering's own algorithm realization
  • 3DS file import
  • The switching perspective
  • Clipping on for- and background
  • Static and animated textures
  • Combining with 2D graphics. Any 2D objects in the same window with the 3D graphics
